A new scam is making the rounds in New Mexico. Attorney General Gary King's Consumer Protection Division has been made aware of the scam. Consumers report receiving phone calls claiming to be from the Federal Trade Commission notifying them of their "prize winnings." One consumer reports she was told to send $4500 via Western Union to Random House Sweepstakes. Once she forwarded the money, she was asked to send another $6900. Another consumer reports a similar situation with her money being sent to New Jersey and New York.

The Attorney General says to ensure that you don't fall victim you should never send requested funds or share personal identification information.
