STRATFORD, TEXAS -- Texas Commissioner of Agriculture, Todd Staples, was in Stratford today as the guest speaker for the Annual Ag Day in Sherman County.
Staples addressed many different topics of Agriculture in Texas. He says the Federal Government is considering policies that would drive Agriculture outside the United States, and how trading jobs overseas would be devastating to Texas.
Staples also had an important message for folks in the Panhandle. " We don't like depending on foreign oil or foreign food, and the reason we don't is because of the farmers and ranchers right here in the Texas Panhandle that work hard day in and day out." said Staples.
The U.S.D.A also announced a $128,000 community loan grant to the City of Stratford.
