The presidential State of the Union Address had some applauding, but others were not so sure.
The Republican response to the State of the Union Address was that the nation cannot afford the spending Democrats want. We spoke with Representative Mac Thornberry who said it's clear the president didn't listen to voters, and the issues that have disappointed them.
"The president didn't seem to back away, didn't seem to change his tune at all and as I say, I was disappointed by that, I was hoping for a new opportunity for Republicans and Democrats to work together this year, um, but tonight we didn't see that much of it on the presidents plan," said Thornberry.
He continued saying spending more federal money isn't a way to bring the country new jobs.
