LAS VEGAS, NEW MEXICO (AP) -- A snowstorm that hit northern New Mexico is making driving difficult.

State highway officials say roads are snowpacked and icy along Interstate 25 in areas north of Santa Fe all the way to the Colorado border. Icy and snowpacked roads also are reported north of Las Vegas, N.M., near Raton, Clayton and Springer and in rural Harding County.

Crews were out early Monday to plow, salt and sand roads.

Motorists are urged to use caution and reduce speed.

Meanwhile, schools have been closed Monday in Cimarron, Pecos and Logan, while many other districts in northeastern New Mexico are on 2-hour delay.
