A Stinnett teenager is dead after a wreck early Wednesday morning. Robert Todd Lerke, 19 of Stinnett was traveling eastbound on RR 2277, 8 miles southeast of Stinnett. Lerke was going around a curve when he lost control of the car. The car then overturned ejecting Lerke and his passenger, 18-year-old Brian Larson who was pronounced dead at the scene. Larke was taken by life star to Northwest Texas Hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition with fractures to his back.
According to State Troopers neither Lerke nor Larson were wearing their seat belt. Alcohol is being investigated by Texas State Troopers as a factor in the crash. Charges are pending the result of the investigation.
