AMARILLO, TEXAS -- After a recent security update patch; a virus infected the computers of many Microsoft users inflicting the blue screen of death. Patrick Barnes, a systems administrator at Cat-Man-Du in Amarillo, discovered what the problem was and presented a solution. As a result, Barnes made several technology sites including Yahoo, PC World, and several tech blogs.
"When I first stumbled across it I didn't expect it to be as big as it was, but as soon as I realized that there were so many people being affected by it, it really didn't surprise me that it took off in the news and that people spread the word," said Patrick Barnes.
Microsoft and security vendors are addressing the issue, but Barnes suggests that before you run any new Microsoft security updates or patches; make sure you update your computer's anti-virus software.
