AMARILLO,TEXAS -- The SWAT team has called off a search for a wanted man. Police were searching for a suspect, wanted on a felony probation violation and now trespassing.

Police say they responded to a call from a female living in the 2200 block of S. Pittsburgh. She told police she had received a text message from the suspect saying he was inside her home. When she arrived and found the door open, she promptly called the police. The suspect fled through the back door and officers chased him for a couple of blocks before losing him. At that point, witnesses lead officers to two other homes for officers to search. SWAT officers were sent into a home at 2501 SE 22nd, but officers were unable to locate the suspect.

At this point he is still on the loose. APD has dropped the perimeter and the search for now. Authorities are looking for a 26-year-old black male wearing a striped shirt with blue jeans. If you have any information you are asked to call Amarillo Police.
