NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - A misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol charge has been filed against the Cleveland County Clerk.
Prosecutors filed the charge Wednesday against 42-year-old Tammy Howard in connection with her arrest Jan. 25.
Howard was arrested about 2 a.m. in Noble by a Cleveland County deputy who said Howard smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on her feet and had slurred speech and red, watery eyes. The deputy's report says Howard refused a blood-alcohol test.
Defense attorney Steve Stice says Howard is embarrassed. He said he's reviewing the report to decide what legal steps to take.
