The educators who make up the Panhandle's Region 16 are hoping this area will see more help for your kids and their public schools.

Thursday night, members of the Texas Association of School Boards from across the panhandle gathered to share input about issues facing school districts in our area.

It's part of a grassroots advocacy effort to bring things like more funding to our public schools.  "Our goal tonight is to get the goals we have in Region 16 at the forefront of the plan for the next legislative session," said Bret Begert, the TASB Region 16 Director, and Ford Elliot School Board Member.

Bob Craig, from the Sate Board of Education in District 15, said, "It's a great opportunity to visits with the trustees in Region 16, and get their input, discuss ideas, and to visits with everybody about what's going on at the state level."

The board members will continue to refine all their regional priorities and put together a plan to take Austin.
