AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Amarillo Police Department has wrapped up the 2010 warrant roundup. When all was said and done, 4,244 warrants were served with a total face value of 1.2 million.
The roundup started in February with thousand of postcards mailed to those with outstanding warrants, those who received a postcard were given two weeks to take care of it.
The week of March 8th thru March 12th. APD assigned members of the COPPS unit to actively go and search for people who had not taken care of their warrants.
The police department would like to remind everyone that just because the warrant roundup is over, it doesn't mean they will stop looking for people named in warrants.
