HOUSTON (AP) - Officials say a collision between a transit bus and light-rail train in downtown Houston has sent 18 people to local hospitals.

Metropolitan Transit Authority officials say none of the injuries are reported to be life threatening after Monday's accident. Police said the collision occurred about 2:10 p.m.

The cause of the collision is being investigated by transit authority police.

Last month, a similar downtown collision between a bus and light-rail train sent nine people to hospitals. In that accident, the bus apparently ran a red light and struck the train.
