The process to select a replacement for Hal Miner is about to begin
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- With the passing of Judge Hal Miner, the 47th District Court seat is vacant, and the process to select a replacement is about to begin.
The process starts with the Governor recognizing the vacancy, and since the death occurred after the March primary the Republican chairs of Armstrong, Potter, and Randall counties will select and nominate a candidate to be put on the November ballot.
They have until late August to come up with that candidate.
Judge Hal Miner died Friday in New York after suffering a heart attack related to different health problem he was suffering from earlier this month.
