AMARILLO,TEXAS -- Northwest Texas Hospital has acquired bragging rights for a special program only it is offering in the area.

They've received national certification for pulmonary rehabilitation, one of only 7 institutions in the state to receive it.

Laura Owen, program coordinator, says they focus on breathing problems and how to rehab people who are having trouble with even everyday activities.

"We do education as well as exercise to help people have a better quality of life to improve their breathing techniques and to do the things that you and I take for granted even getting up out of bed, going to the rest room or grooming, can be very difficult as well."

To learn more about the pulmonary rehabilitation program, call the hospital at 351-LUNG.
