AMARILLO,TEXAS -- A study published by USA Today says that 40% of Americans are physically inactive, and 31% don't workout on a regular basis, but there is a certain workout that is helping the so called average Joe. Studies show that interval training is becoming huge around America, and is helping folks workout at their own pace.

Here's an example, you can run for two minutes and then walk for two minutes. Experts say it maximizes your ability level by pushing yourself in timed intervals.

"There able to take some of their limitations out of the way, they can slow everything down so they don't have to push real heavy the whole time. They're still seeing the results and they can do something easy then something hard and then take a nice long break," said Damon Seymour a Trainer at Gold's Gym.

Damon adds he has seen positive results in interval training and recommends it to his clients.
