Henry Skinner is scheduled to be put to death on Wednesday, March 24th. Sandrine Ageorges-Skinner, Henry's wife traveled to Austin on Thursday to join a protest with about 100 other people on the Capitol steps, in a protest against the death penalty in Texas.
The Austin American Statesman interviewed Ageorges-Skinner she said "We are in Austin, and you can do something to help him...human justice should not kill people."
The Justice Rally, included marchers carrying anti-death penalty posters, and carrying a full-size coffin. The organization wants the death penalty abolished or at least a moratorium. Since 1973, when the Lone Star State reinstated the death penalty, the state has executed 451 inmates.
Henry Skinner you may recall, was sentenced to death in 1993 for fatally bludgeoning 40-year-old Twila Busby with an ax handle then fatally stabbing her two mentally impaired sons. The killings took place at their home in Pampa on New Year's Eve in 1993.
Skinner's family claims that DNA found at the crime scene has not been tested. Skinner's requests for an appeal have been denied.
