Even with spring break and a weekend ahead of us, the City says they are well prepared for this weekends weather scenario.
Michael Rice from the City says they are taking a wait and see approach. They will have salt and sand trucks loaded and ready by tonight along with snow plows.
The City is responsible for main intersections and underpasses beneath the interstate.
"Safety is a our main goal, and we focus on Emergency services to make sure they'll be able to run and operate. One we make sure hospitals have clean routes that they can get in and out, and we work with the Police and address their needs as well," said Michael Rice from the City of Amarillo.
TxDOT says they will have crews on standby as well.
