Merril Leroy Jessop has been sentenced to 75 years in Prison for Sexually Assaulting a 15-year-old girl.
Jessop is the fourth Yearning for Zion Ranch resident convicted of sexual assault of a child, 8 more are scheduled to stand trial on various charges.
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott released this statement on Friday, "A San Angelo jury today sentenced Merril Leroy Jessop of Eldorado to 75 years in prison and ordered him to pay a $10,000 fine for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. We appreciate the jury's service and respect their decision. Merril Leroy Jessop is the fourth YFZ Ranch resident convicted and sentenced for sexually assaulting a child. A total of 12 YFZ Ranch-related suspects have been indicted on sexual assault of a child, bigamy or other charges, and eight additional suspects are awaiting trial. All eight prosecutions will be handled by the Office of the Attorney General."
