The week long celebration gets kicked off Saturday, April 10th

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Folks in Beaver, Oklahoma are gearing up for the Cimarron Territory Celebration and Cow Chip Throwing Contest. The week long celebration gets kicked off Saturday, April 10th, and culminates with next weekend's 41st Cow Chip Throwing Contest.

People from around the world will travel to Beaver and try their luck at tossing a cow chip next Saturday, but tomorrow the fun gets started with a chili-cook off, a poker run, and an art show at the Jones and Plummer Trail Museum.

The Celebration is the community's largest event of the year bringing in 5-thousand folks in for the fun.
