AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Congress is setting itself up to miss the April 15th deadline of the budget possibly without even considering a draft.
This isn't the first time this has happened. Congress has failed to adopt a final budget four times in the past 35 years
In 19999', 2003, 2005 and 2007 - According to a recent Congressional research service report.
We spoke with Congressman Mac Thornberry to see what he had to say about this situation. He said, "Congress regularly does not meet its deadlines in passing a budget and its just a great example of how too often Congress does not have the fiscal discipline that it really needs to have a country and an economy that's strong and safe."
The Congressman added he believes people all around the country are ready to see a change of direction in Washington.
