Texas State Senator Kel Seliger
AMARILLO,TEXAS -- State Representative Warren Chisum and State Senator Kel Seliger have helped start a new organization in the state.
It's called the Independent Conservative Republicans of Texas.
The new group is to be made up of Republican legislators and local officials.
Seliger says the goal for them is to emphasize the facts behind laws and lawmaking.
He told Pronews 7 they want to help the people who are governed, and explain to everyone what makes conservatism work.
He spoke with us on Monday about how this whole effort was started.
"It came up with members of the party who thought principals and individuals get lost as various government bodies seek term for themselves, that people forget that governments are for their benefits the individual," said Seliger.
