SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Republican legislators want New Mexico to join more than a dozen other states in suing to overturn a federal health care law.

House Republicans have sent a letter to Democratic Attorney General Gary King asking him to join a legal challenge to the health care overhaul.

King spokesman Phil Sisneros said Wednesday no decision has been made by the attorney general's office but the federal law is being studied to determine how it will affect New Mexicans.

In their letter, Republicans said the legislation signed by President Barack Obama is unconstitutional partly because it will require some Americans to buy private health insurance.
