AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The City of Amarillo is continuing its partnership with Assiter auctions to deal with the city's unwanted, surplus or seized items.
The auctions can bring in as much as $800,000 annually for the city's general fund and for the purchasing department.
The quarterly planned events should have something for everyone...from seized houses and jewelry to cars and scrap, according to Taylor Norman, the city's purchasing agent, "It continues to amaze me what people will pay---the determination is fair market value in an auction and there's no better determination...we're surprised all the time."
