LOS ALAMOS, N.M. (AP) - Interns flocking to Los Alamos National Laboratory this summer might have a difficult time finding a place to stay.
Housing coordinators say they are experiencing a shortage of available rooms for students.
The University of New Mexico's Los Alamos campus has 64 efficiency apartments, but housing coordinator Betsey Suarzo says all 64 units already are rented.
Jeanne Bridge of Plateau Property Management says her firm stopped taking names for a waiting list when it reached 35 students several weeks ago.
Supporters of the intern program have begun asking Los Alamos residents to consider renting out a guest room to a summer student.
