DUMAS,TEXAS -- Officials in Dumas say the funny smelling and tasting water is ok to drink and should be back to normal sometime on Monday.
The Dumas city manager says the city was working to get the well fixed in Hartley County. In order to do that they used a vegetable oil substance as lubricant and some of it ended up in the system.
Officials say the water is not harmful, but it does smell a little funny, and the smell should go away after a few minutes. There is not a boil warning on the water and the city says it's safe to use.
