Picture of Step2 Basic Rhythms Drums set being recalled
Another toy recall has been issued, due to a choking hazard.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, along with the company Step2, have announced a voluntary recall of Step2 Basic Rhythms Drums. The agencies say consumers should stop using the recalled product immediately.
The problem is the plastic clips used to attach the drumsticks to the drum can break. The small broken pieces can present a choking hazard to young children. So far no injuries have been reported.
The toy is intended for preschool age children. A red "Step2" logo is printed on the side of the drum. They are sold at Toys 'R' Us, Burlington Coat Factory and other retail stores nationwide from August 2009 through March of this year.
If you have this drum set you should take it from children and contact Step2 to request a replacement toy. You can contact the company at 866-860-1887 between 8 a.m. And 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, or visit the website at www.step2.com.
CPSC is still interested in receiving incident or injury reports that are either directly related to this product recall or involve a different hazard with the same product. You can let them know by visiting their website at https://www.cpsc.gov/cgibin/incident.aspx.
