Input is needed for the next long term transportation plan in Texas
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Folks came from all over the Texas Panhandle Tuesday to a public meeting hosted by the Texas Department of Transportation. They wanted to hear ideas, concerns, and possible future plans for transportation in our area.
The ideas that came up at Tuesday's meeting included a request to make Loop 335 in Amarillo four lanes. Folks from the Dalhart area want to see U.S. Highway 54 from Dalhart to the Oklahoma border also widened to four lanes. Another concern was the declining number of roadside parks in the Panhandle.
"We really want to hear from people, what they think needs to be done as far as expanding or improving the transportation infrastructure, not just the roadways but all modes of transportation," said Paul Braun, TxDot Spokesperson.
TxDot officials say they'll be taking public input until August via internet, and phone. Check out the link provided below for more information.
