AMARILLO,TEXAS -- A retired Amarillo firefighter and an Amarillo woman have been arrested. The two are accused of sexually assaulting a girl over a period of six years.
According to police, a 21-year-old woman told officers she was sexually assaulted when she was 12 and the abuse continued until the age of 18.
APD detectives conducted a full investigation and presented it to the Potter and Randall County District Attorney offices for review. A search warrant was issued for the suspect's residence in the 3700 block of Lewis Lane.
Police arrested 56-year-old Teddy Gene Acklin, and 40-year-old Angela Marie Oakes. The two face charges in both Randall and Potter counties.
In Potter, Acklin faces nine counts of Sexual Assault of a Child, one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. He faces ten counts of Indecency with a Child by contact in Randall.
Oakes faces six counts of Sexual Assault of a Child in Potter County, eight counts of Indecency with a Child by contact, and one count of Sexual Assault of a Child in Randall County.
The case is still under investigation and additional victims and charges are possible.
