CLOVIS,N.M. -- A school bond could be in the near future for the Clovis school district.

The Clovis Municipal School board of education met Tuesday, one item on the agenda was the possibility of holding a special school district general obligation bond election.

The bond election would be held on August 31.

The Clovis News Journal reports that the general obligation bond question will be "Shall the Clovis Municipal School District issue $16 million of general obligation bonds to erect, remodel, make additions to and furnish school buildings, purchase or improve school grounds, purchase computer software and hardware for student use in public schools, provide matching funds for capital outlay projects funded pursuant to the Public School Capital Outlay Act or any combination of these purposes?"

The board simply discussed this possibility no action was taken.
