NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - A preliminary damage survey by the National Weather Service indicates six of the tornadoes that touched down in Oklahoma earlier this week rated EF-3.

The weather service's Norman office released the results of the survey on Wednesday, two days after the storms killed two people, injured more than 100 and damaged or destroyed hundreds of homes in central Oklahoma.

Tornadoes are rated from 0 to 5 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale based on the damage they cause. An EF-3 twister has wind speeds of between 136 mph and 165 mph.

The survey indicated EF-3 tornadoes touched down or traveled through parts of Kay, Cleveland, Oklahoma, Pottawatomie, Seminole and Carter counties.
