ALAMO, Texas (AP) - Authorities say a 14-year-old south Texas boy has been arrested in the shooting death of another teen in what appears to have been a game of Russian roulette.

The incident happened Tuesday night just south of the lower Rio Grande Valley town of Alamo. Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino tells The Monitor of McAllen that the suspect teen allegedly put one bullet into a .38-caliber pistol Tuesday night, the pulled the trigger without discharge while pointing it at two other kids. He aimed it at himself and, again, nothing. Finally, he pointed it at the victim and fired a shot, wounding him.

The wounded boy's parents rushed him to the police station, where first aid failed to save him. Authorities aren't releasing the names of any of the boys involved because of their ages. It was unclear where the boys obtained the gun.
