ROSWELL, N.M. (AP) - Documents filed against a Roswell man accused of killing his son and his son's girlfriend, then wounding three police officers, say the man argued with the pair in the days before the shootings
Police accuse 47-year-old David Vega of shooting 25-year-old Christopher Lee Vega and 31-year-old Alisa Montgomery shortly after bonding out Sunday on a misdemeanor charge from a domestic dispute.
Vega's nephew told police he heard Vega load a shotgun and phone a friend to say he planned to kill the two, who had lived with him a few days.
The witness told police Vega wanted them to leave and was infuriated they "called the cops on him" earlier.
Police say when officers arrived late, they were fired upon and shot back, hitting Vega.
He's hospitalized in Albuquerque.
