AMARILLO,TEXAS -- Early Thursday morning Amarillo Police were sent to a home in the 1200 block of Pecan. Officers were responding to a report of attempted residential robbery.
The 75-year-old victim, reported that the two suspects were black men in their teens or early twenties. They were described as 5'4 inches tall and 120 pounds and the other 5'8 and 140 pounds. The two were wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black pants, and black shoes.
According to the victim the men knocked on his door. The taller one shined a flashlight in the home owner's face and asked to use the phone. He also had a handgun in his other hand, and said, "Give me the money."
The victim told him he didn't have any money, and pushed him out of the doorway. It was then that the victim saw the second suspect. The homeowner said he had a pocketknife in his hand,held down at his side.
The first suspect again demanded money and said he would use the gun if he had to. Again, the victim told him he didn't have any money. Both suspects then walked away westbound on Pecan.
There were no injuries or arrests and no money was taken.
At this time it is unknown if this crime has any connection with any of the recent residential robberies.
