AMARILLO,TEXAS -- Friday afternoon, Mr. Johnson was released from the hospital and has been booked in the Potter County Jail on two charges of Intoxicated Assault and Accident Causing Injury or Death.

Two people were sent to the hospital after major accident at N. Eastern St. And Fritch Highway.
The wreck happened on Thursday, and Amarillo Police say a Chevy pickup was travelling southbound on N. Eastern when it ran a stop sign and hit a Ford Escape going southwest on the Fritch Highway. The pickup also hit a Ford Excursion.
The driver of the Escape, Stuart Black and his passenger Rebecca Black were both transported to a local hospital. Stuart's injuries are listed as serious, while Rebecca's are said to be critical.
The driver of the Excursion was released from the scene uninjured.
The driver of the pickup, 25-year-old Don Wayne Johnson fled the scene on foot. He was later captured with the help of some of his family. He was admitted into the hospital with fractured ribs. He faces two charges of Intoxicated Assault and Accident Causing Injury or death.
The wreck is still under investigation.
