STRATFORD,TEXAS -- If you've driven through Stratford lately, you might notice that their downtown street is gone. After years of planning and finally getting approval the city of Stratford is revitalizing its Main Street.

The street will have new lights and sidewalks, and they will put in new red brick to make it look like it did back in its heyday. The Texas seal will also appear at the middle of 3rd and Main.

"It's a city beautification that's very well needed, I think it's going to be great just for the town to attract visitors and also attract people downtown to our Main street businesses," said Stratford City Manager Scott Caldwell.

Caldwell also says local downtown business owners have been very cooperative and understanding. They hope to have the project completed by next fall.
