OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Heavy rain has fallen across eastern Oklahoma, trapping at least one motorist in Muskogee as others fled their cars on flooded streets in Tulsa.

Muskogee Emergency Management Director James Moore says a motorist became stranded on a bridge about 2 a.m. Thursday after driving into high water. Moore says rescuers waded into the water to put a life jacket on him and pull him to safety.

Moore says no injuries have been reported but that about 30 homes in the area in south Muskogee are flooded. He says he'll begin assessing the damage later Thursday.

National Weather Service meteorologist Karen Hatfield in Tulsa says 4.38 inches of rain fell at the Muskogee airport from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 1 a.m. Thursday.
