AMARILLO, TX -- If you're one of the hundreds of people that use the on-line reporting system set up by the Amarillo Police Department, you're going to be out of luck for a little while.

The system allows citizens to access and file all kinds of reports to the police department from a computer.

The police department is changing up some of its operating software, which means the system will be down for an undetermined length of time but Corporal Jerry Neufel says, it will be back.

"What this is doing now while we're switching to the new system, we're going offline and not be available for the forseeeable future...2-3 days, 2-3 weeks. You get software trying to talk to each other and sometimes it doesn't go as quick as you want it to."

Corporal Nefueld says more than 200 people a month use the online system, and we'll let you know when it's back up and running.
