STRATFORD,TEXAS -- Stratford ISD Superintendent Jerry Birdsong, tells Pronews 7 that the school is involved in allegations of misconduct involving a former 1st grade teacher by the name of Ms. Robbi Wright.
Birdsong said that a teacher informed their principal of a personal problem and gave their resignation which would have been effective at the end of the year. Shortly after that, the school learned of allegations of misconduct. Once it appeared that those allegations were well founded, the school notified the Stratford Police Department and the State Board of Educator Certification.
Birdsong wants to stress that the safety of the students is very important to the district.
According to calls into the Pronews 7 news room the misconduct revolves around an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old student. Superintendent Birdsong however would not confirm or elaborate on the allegations.
