AMARILLO, TX -- The city of Canyon police department is making an effort to clean up their streets--literally.
The city is preparing to seal the streets with a top coat, so in an effort to clear the streets, the police department is asking resident to remove any junked vehicles from the roadways before they start.
Any "junkers" left on the streets will be towed at the owner's expense, according to Police Chief, Dale Davis.
"We're going after the vehicles that are on public property...the streets...and try to eliminate some of the nusance. They do create a traffic hazard in a way and it's just the clutter."
They're sealing the streets east of 28th, but Davis says they will be enforcing the junk vehicle ordinance all over town.
