AMARILLO,TEXAS -- Teachers at Sleepy Hollow Elementary made good on a promise to their students. The 4th grade teachers made a deal with their students at the beginning of the year. If they all passed the TAKS test, then the teachers would eat worms at the end of the year.

You guessed it they all passed. So the teachers got together in front of the students and they did it, they swallowed worms.

Stephanie Elkins, the mastermind behind the idea, says it was worth it.

"I'm very proud as a teacher, proud of the kids, proud of the work we put into this as a team to get them to where they are, so yea I'm just bursting with pride."

A few teachers had drinks nearby just in case.

Ms. Elkins also did the worm thing a couple of years ago when she was at Greenways Elementary.
