U.S. Congressman Mac Thornberry
AMARILLO,TEXAS -- The oil spill in the Gulf has brought attention to energy resources and that's exactly what U.S. Congressman Mac Thornberry talked about with the Society of Petroleum Engineers on Friday here in Amarillo.
Thornberry talked about the Gulf oil spill, global warming bills, and energy policy. He also expressed concern on what impact the oil spill and Washington might create.
"I'm afraid that some folks in Washington are going to use this an excuse to push an anti-American energy agenda and we've already seen the president try to punish the oil business using this spill as an excuse," said Thornberry.
The Congressman proposes that a solution for the current crisis would be to produce all the energy we can here in the states, including wind, solar, and oil. He also stressed that we should tap into the resources we already posess, such as natural gas.
