AMARILLO,TEXAS -- The High Plains Food Bank is working hard this summer to make sure at risk kids are getting plenty of opportunities to eat while they're not in school.

The Summer Work Program will serve up to 450 kids a week here in Amarillo, as well as kids in Pampa.

They will deliver lunch and dinner to kids at the Maverick Club, and breakfast at San Jacinto Elementary. On Saturdays food will be served at Saint Stephens Methodist Church.

Leigh Fuller, Director of Kids Café says that you may not realize the need in our community.

"If they didn't have this they might not have anything. So, this might be the only opportunity they have to eat, with us providing meals were able to provide them with fruit, milk, grains and protein all that they need."

The program is free to children. If you would like to get you child involved you can contact Fuller at 806-374-8562.
