SAN ANTONIO (AP) - At least one person has died from flooding after about 11 inches of rain soaked parts of central Texas between Austin and San Antonio.

Lt. John Wells of the New Braunfels Police Department said in Wednesday's online edition of the San Antonio Express-News that a body was recovered from the Guadalupe River in Gruene, about 30 miles northeast of San Antonio. The victim has not been identified.

Game wardens from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department have been helping county authorities with high-water rescues.

In east Texas earlier Wednesday, a tornado hit Jefferson County and caused property damage. There were no reported injuries.
