SAN DIEGO (AP) -- There are frayed nerves in Southern California following a moderate earthquake that rattled San Diego and gently rolled Los Angeles.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake was centered about 85 miles east of San Diego and struck at 9:26 p.m. Pacific. It had a 5.7 magnitude. And there have been lots of aftershocks.

Emergency officials in San Diego County say calls to all cities in the county found no reports of significant damage. A county supervisor says the quake "thumped really hard."

The quake caused a momentary pause at the Toronto Blue Jays-San Diego Padres game in San Diego. Fans cheered when the public address announcer asked them to remain calm.

In the Los Angeles area, the quake was felt as a gentle rolling motion.

According to online citizen reports compiled by the USGS, more than 1,000 people reported feeling the shaking.
