OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police say a suspicious box found at a utility company's substation that caused police to shut down a busy highway was not an explosive device.
U.S. 77 - also known as Broadway Extension - was shut down about noon Wednesday after Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. employees found a fence cut and a box with what appeared to be a threatening note attached.
Capt. Patrick Stewart says the box turned out to be a toolbox left at the scene by a contractor. The roadway that connects Oklahoma City with the suburb of Edmond was reopened shortly after 2 p.m.
Police said earlier that the note appeared to have the word "boom" written on it.
