SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - The results of New Mexico's primary election will soon become official.
The state Canvassing Board meets Tuesday afternoon in Santa Fe to certify the election returns.
Secretary of State Mary Herrera, Gov. Bill Richardson and the chief justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court, Charles Daniels, make up the canvassing board.
The June 1 primary determined Democratic and Republican nominees for statewide, legislative, judicial and other offices. The nominees will appear on the November general election ballot.
Tuesday also is the filing deadline for minor party candidates to run in the general election.
