Former state Rep. Bob Glaze, who spent 12 years in the Texas Legislature, has died. He was 82. Former Gilmer City Councilman Steve Dean said Glaze died Friday. He said Glaze recently had a stroke.
GILMER, TEXAS -- Glaze was an east Texas native who lived in Gilmer for more than 50 years. He was a rancher and chiropractor.
Glaze was first elected to the Legislature in 1990. He was a Sam Houston State graduate who served in the Merchant Marines in 1945-46.
Former First Baptist Church of Gilmer pastor David Jenkins told the Tyler Morning-Telegraph that Glaze "cared about his clients, his patients and those he represented in state government."
