PORTALES, N.M. (AP) - Elida resident Aurbra King was lucky enough to win more than $1 million in the New Mexico Lottery last year. Now, his son and daughter have claimed their own prize.
Monica Baca of Portales and Brantley King of Elida won a $10,000 Powerball prize with a ticket they bought together at a convenience store in Elida. It's the same place where their father bought his winning ticket.
Baca says it's exciting that she and her brother won and that it happened to the same family again.
The siblings were one number away from winning the jackpot in the June 16 Powerball drawing.
Lottery spokeswoman Linda Hamlin says she didn't realize the new winners were related to Aurbra King until she recognized them when they claimed their prize this week.
