AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Southwest Airlines will soon fly two planes full of Veterans and volunteers to Washington D.C. The flights are for the Texas Panhandle Honor Flight and the organization America Supports You Texas, has been raising the funds to pay for the trip to visit the National War Memorial.

The flights will take off in September and October, and the funds for the trip come from you when you supported ASY Texas at their events. Throughout the year ASY Texas hosted cookouts, chili cook-offs, and an Armed Forces Banquet. The non-profit also has had a helping hand from individual contributions, corporate sponsors, and even grants.

"It was a very generous grant...we're actually sponsoring one of the flights, so we're proud and honored to do that. We support our veterans whole-heartedly and we're just, we're excited that we could be part of, of the partnership," said Susie Akers, officer for the Bivins Foundation Grants.

Last year ASY Texas raised $200,000 to pay for 154 Veterans to make the flight to our nation's capitol.
