AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The driver of a semi escaped injury when his trailer got stuck on a railroad track and was struck by a train.

It happened Wednesday night on Highway 60 between the Tyson Plant and Pantex.

Witnesses say the semi appeared to try to veer right and head north but cut it too short and the trailer slid off the road.

The cab was stuck on the track and the train didn't have time to stop, smashing into the semi. Luckily the driver was able to get out before the impact. BNSF and other law enforcement officials are investigating.
