The Rosita Creek Flats, which is part of the Canadian River, saw vandalism over the July 4th holiday.
Now a group of off roaders and Potter County is trying to prevent that from happening again.
Potter County Cmmissioners approved a committee made up of the Texas off Roaders Association, the West Texas outlaws, and a few commissioners to come up with plans on how to make this national recreation area safe during busy weekends.
Scott Salter from the Texas Off-Roaders Association said most weekends people out their are pretty calm. It's during holiday weekends and their sand drags is when things can get out of hand.
So this group will meet over the next month and come up with some solutions to present to Potter County, starting with police.
"We think law enforcement presence is key, to keep this place open and keeping law biden off roaders safe, and hopefully weeding out the bad apples that feel like they have to tear things up, and ruin it for everyone who comes down here," said Salter, the TORA President.
The group said it's also making suggestions and proposals to the National Park Service.
